Nelson Fraley – Founding Partner, Fraley Pak Law Group

From humble beginnings as the only child of his parents, Nelson Fraley learned early that life presents unique challenges—and that perseverance and community are key to overcoming them. Raised in the diverse military community of Lakewood, Washington, Nelson developed a deep appreciation for inclusion, empathy, and service. These early values continue to shape his commitment to justice and advocacy.

After graduating from Clover Park High School, Nelson attended Washington State University in Pullman, where a professor first inspired his interest in law. A research project on voting rights sparked a lasting passion for justice, leading Nelson to earn his B.A. in Political Science in 1991.

In 1993, he began law school at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. That same year, tragedy struck when his father, a decorated and disabled U.S. Army veteran, passed away. Despite the emotional weight of the loss, Nelson pressed forward and earned his Juris Doctor in 1996.

Nelson’s legal career began as a Judicial Assistant to the Honorable Judge Brian Tollefson (Ret.) in Pierce County Superior Court. Under Judge Tollefson’s mentorship, Nelson entered private practice in insurance defense with the firm Phillips & Webster, gaining extensive experience in litigation, negotiation, arbitration, and discovery.

Later, he joined and became a partner at Alliance Law Group, a firm with roots dating back to 1950. After more than two decades of service, Nelson co-founded Fraley Pak Law Group with longtime friend and fellow attorney James Pak. Together, they bring over 50 years of combined legal experience to clients throughout Washington, Oregon, and Arizona. Their firm is dedicated to advocating for individuals who have suffered serious personal injuries due to the negligence of others.

Outside the courtroom, Nelson is a dedicated endurance athlete and golfer. He is a five-time finisher of both the Ironman (140.6 miles) and Half Ironman (70.3 miles) triathlons. One of his proudest achievements is training for and completing both races alongside his daughter in 2023.

Whether in law or in life, Nelson is driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact—and to help others navigate adversity with dignity and resilience.
